Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Pup is a feed given to both mother and the newly born puppy that is for bitches from the end of gestation and going through lactation and also weaning puppies under which are under 60 days old.

Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Pup is a very good food supplement for the new adopted puppy to your home. We advise the new puppy adopters to feed Starter food for the first 3 months and post that you may switch to Pedigree Puppy or any other puppy dry dog foods.

Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Pup feeding guide

The first 3 months for your puppy is very important as it is the weaning period and also the initial growth stage comes in 1st 3 months of your puppy.

Environmental stimulation can affect your puppy’s mental development rate during this time. Puppy brain waves look like an adult dog by the 50th day, but he’s not programmed yet – it’s your job, and the work of his mother and siblings. Breastfeeding usually ends in the eighth week. Hence, it is advised to have a proper qualified meal to your puppy if you had adopted the puppy before 5th week.

Let’s see how to mix the Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Pup to your puppy in the first month i.e may be in 31 days old puppy.

The first thing that we must look at is that your puppy might have taken mothers milk and got habituated to lactose-free dog milk supplement, so your puppy may not be ready to have solid food right away but Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Puppy comes as standard solid food.

Here is how you can make it easy for your puppy to have his meal.

    1. Take the right quantity (age = quantity) of the feed in the bowl.

Get some Luke warm to hot water of about 100ml and soak the puppy feed in the hot water for 20 minutes.

Now the feed would become soft and easy to eat, but the thing is if your pup is less than 2 months that could be 30 to 40 days old. Your puppy cannot understand or may not be able to eat the soaked dribbles aswell.

So, Mash the Pedigree Professional Starter Mother and Pup dribbles to make it like a paste and add some more water if required and put that in a bowl and keep it in front of your puppy.

    Pedigree Professional Feeding Guide

I am very much sure that your puppy would immediately start having his meal and would that consider that as a kind of semi-solid to liquid food.

You must feed your puppy at least 4 to 5 times in a day so that your puppy would get proper nutrition, apart from that you must give your puppy a calcium tonic and also a multi vitamin syrup, which can be mixed in the same food.

SO, IT’S NOT MANDATORY TO FEED Pedigree FOOD ALL THE 4 OR 5 TIMES.

It is good to give weaning lactose-free dog milk for the alternative meals, like early in the morning around 7 am give your puppy milk and in the afternoon around 12 pm, give your Pedigree Professional
